70 remote acres on the Laramie River! Secluded land, far from the city lights located 70 miles north of the community of Laramie on the Laramie River! Power is about a mile away, so off-grid is probably the best options. It borders about 300 acres of public land as well. There are great recreational options here... hiking, exploring, horseback riding,hunting, boating and fishing.... The river is marginal for fishing, though I have been told at times it can be super... However, the property is only 10 miles from Wheatland Reservoir #3 where there several fishing and boating access sites. Wyoming Fish and Game stock the reservoir with rainbow and cutthroat trout that are known to grow to several pounds. Fishing here is fantastic. Water Fowl such as Ducks and Geese are also abundant right along the river as well as at Wheatland reservoir #3. Reservoir #2 is close by as well, but it is not open to the public. The Laramie Mountains are about 8 miles to the east. The Medicine Bow National Forest is about 15 miles north. The National Forest offers fun recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, etc. The nearest community, Rock River (pop 250) has a gas station and general store. This area is in the heart of the Wyoming High Plains with the rugged territory and plains that support lots of antelope. The primary economic activity here includes cattle ranching and farming wheat, corn, and sunflowers. Dinosaurs once roamed this vast state and there is much proof at Como Bluff nearby east of Medicine Bow. Como Bluff was the site of one of the first major discoveries of dinosaur remains in the world! So much to explore, so great an area to just relax and soak in the view.
